
For the past ten years, Peter Arcese has been teaching literature courses at New York University on the Great Books, Shakespeare, Classical Mythology, and the Epic. Arcese's poetry publication credits include original work and translations appearing in the New York Quarterly. His translation of The Agamemnon by Aeschylus is the only such translation entirely into English syllabic verse. For theater, he has produced and directed plays and staged readings Off-Off Broadway, including Aeschylus, Shakespeare, and contemporary plays by William Packard and Walter James Miller.
As an attorney and member of the New York State Bar, Arcese concentrates his practice in estate planning. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of New York City and is Of Counsel to the law firm of Donlon & Harold, P.C. in Garden City, New York. Specific practice areas include:
His work in philanthropy focuses on support for arts and education through nonprofit board memberships and participation in the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York.
